Geelong Performers

Madeline Leman and The Desert Swells

Madeline Leman and The Desert Swells create a retro Americana sound that is sinful and soulful, heartbreaking and leg shaking. Influenced by Patsy Cline and Bonnie Raitt, Madeline captivates audiences with stories of strong female protagonists, cowboys and truck drivers who ramble their way through the mundane and the profound. Inspired by her time in North America and the backstreets of Brunswick, Madeline weaves nostalgia soaked tales through light filled rooms to create authentic music of great storytelling and musical joy. Coupled with surf guitar and lush harmonies The Desert Swells are a high-energy live show not to be missed!

Deep Street Soul

Along with Japanese funksters Osaka Monaurail, Mountain Mocha Kilmanjarro and the US’s Will Sessions, Deep Street Soul take their place as one of the heaviest & meanest bands currently plying their trade on the international funk scene.
They have played alongside legends such as Marva Whitney & Charles Walker, headlined Russ Dewbury’s legendary ‘Jazz Rooms’ club night, and graced the stages of some of Europe’s & Australia’s largest festivals including legendary Glastonbury.

If you like your Hammond organ dirty, your diva funky, your rhythm section tight & your horn section schooled in the ways of the JB’s, check out Deep Street Soul.

The Sweethearts

Geelong and the Surf Coast is home to a true world leader in music. The Sweethearts, audacious, exhilarating and an ever-youthful neo-soul band were recently awarded in Italy during their 2017 Europe tour, for their contribution to the world music industry. The other two award recipients were none other than the King of Soul,  Solomon Burke & Rufus Thomas! Not bad company to be in.

The Sweethearts are the only Australian musicians to have shared the stage with the great Bernard ‘Pretty’ Purdie (Aretha Franklin, James Brown & B.B. King to name but a few!).

The Sweethearts soul is good for the soul.
